This week, Avenues for Justice (AFJ) is thrilled to spotlight our corporate partner Rothschild & Co and their strong commitment to our mission. As a leading global financial services group with a values-driven culture, Rothschild & Co has provided AFJ with pro bono support and supported key AFJ events. This year, they will serve as our corporate honoree at our 45th Anniversary Second Chance Gala and Awards Dinner on October 24, 2024. In addition to honoring Rothschild & Co, we will also honor Darleendede “DeDe” Agar, Vice President at Goldman Sachs, a leader of the firm’s non-profit relationships and community involvement. Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg will be presented with the Andrew Glover Justice Award in recognition of his leadership in criminal justice reform.
Rothschild & Co is a leading global financial services group with a values-driven culture. Having been at the center of the world's financial markets for over 200 years, their “expertise, intellectual capital and global network enable them to provide a distinct perspective that makes a meaningful difference to their clients, communities and planet.” Since 2021, Rothschild & Co has provided pro bono strategic analysis to help AFJ’s management team understand the landscape of our work and navigate how to best approach strategic growth, while also centering the needs of our Participants and the communities we serve. As we approached our 45th year anniversary, we wanted to take great care to grow organically in ways that deepened support of our Participants and which added value to the justice reform space in New York City.
Rothschild & Co’s team has shared our commitment to deepening our impact in New York City and have provided pro bono services throughout this process. Their team produced financial models and analysis to help AFJ consider multiple aspects of potential expansion strategies, including cost, staff capacity, functionality, and sustainability. Our work with Rothschild & Co continues, with the ultimate goal of ensuring that AFJ’s Board of Directors and management team have robust financial information and data to make informed decisions for the organization’s future.
“Rothschild & Co’s thought partnership has helped us prioritize the right strategies for expansion that will benefit our Participants the most. We look forward to honoring them at the Second Chance Gala and to growing our relationship with their team as we scale up our HIRE Up program.” ~Liz Frederick, AFJ’s Executive Director
This year, we are excited for plans for additional engagement opportunities with R&Co4Generations—Rothschild & Co’s philanthropic foundation. R&Co4Generations collaborates with social and environmental purpose organizations that are aligned with their core mission to empower future generations and protect our world. Their primary focus is to support local charities operating in the geographies in which Rothschild & Co has a presence. R&Co4Generations supports global flagship projects to tackle issues of global significance across multiple geographies. In the fall, their team plans to connect with AFJ’s program team and Participants for career exploration and mentorship efforts through our HIRE Up program.
“The work that the AFJ team does for New York City is invaluable and we look forward to continuing to expand our partnership through AFJ’s HIRE Up component.” ~Rothschild & Co
